Masseur is a regulated profession in Portugal and registered in the EU regulated professions database as follows:

Masseur/Massage therapist/Spa therapist/Masseur-Aesthetician is a directly related regulated profession with title “Massagista de Estética” (Masseur-aesthetician (EN) recognized under Directive 2005/26/EC (5), ID 4621.

General system of recognition – primary application. National legislation: Portaria n° 799/90 de 6 Setembro; regulamento n° 22/70 de 30 Novembro. Qualification level : SEC – Certificate attesting the completion of a secondary course. Art. 11b (7). Useful link: http://www.iefp.pt .
